Is it possible to have a service when we choose cremation?
-
Yes, you may have a variety of services with cremation. Many families choose to have a visitation with their loved one with a funeral service before the cremation. Other options include a graveside service if the cremated remains are interred, a candlelight vigil after a visitation with the loved one, or a memorial service with or without the cremated remains present.
We don't have a church or a minister. Can you provide one?
-
Fairhaven has many very knowledgeable ministers who work well with the
families that we serve. We work with all denominations to insure that
each family's religious needs are met with respect and dignity.
Can I personalize the funeral or memorial service?
-
Yes, every aspect of the ceremony can be tailored to your family's individual
wishes.
Does Fairhaven have a crematory on site?
-
Yes. In 1931 Fairhaven was one of the first cemeteries in Orange County to obtain a crematory. Our crematory has a witness area where families can gather and witness the cremation.
What occurs during the cremation process?
-
The cremation process involves exposing human remains and the container
encasing them to extreme heat and flame and processing the resulting
bone fragments to a uniform size and consistency.
Whom do we call when our loved one dies?
-
With one telephone call to us at 714-633-1442, Fairhaven will take care
of all the details for you.
Can I call after normal business hours?
-
You may call Fairhaven 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We are here
to guide your family at any time, day or night.
Can I call before the death occurs?
-
Yes, having important decisions made before you need to, when emotions
are at rest, makes sense for you and your family.
Where do we get the death certificates?
-
You may obtain a certified copy of the death certificate from the county
health department where the death occurred. The cost per death certificate
is $13.00. As a courtesy for your family, Fairhaven will obtain the
death certificates for you. Fairhaven does not charge you for this
service; you pay only for the death certificates ordered.
