Where do we get the death certificates?

    You may obtain a certified copy of the death certificate from the county health department where the death occurred. The cost per death certificate is $13.00. As a courtesy for your family, Fairhaven will obtain the death certificates for you. Fairhaven does not charge you for this service; you pay only for the death certificates ordered.

 

Whom do we call when our loved one dies?

    With one telephone call, Fairhaven will take care of all the details for you.

 

Can I call after normal business hours?

    You may call Fairhaven 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We are here to guide your family at any time, day or night.

 

Can I call before the death occurs?

    Yes, having important decisions made before you need to, when emotions are at rest, makes sense for you and your family.

 

We don't have a church or a minister. Can you provide one?

    Fairhaven has many very knowledgeable ministers who work well with the families that we serve. We work with all denominations to insure that each family's religious needs are met with respect and dignity.

 

I own my cemetery property at Fairhaven Memorial Park. Why should I use Fairhaven Mortuary?

    There are several reasons to consider Fairhaven Mortuary. The Mortuary is inside the park and is very convenient for families that wish to hold a service in the chapel, then proceed to the graveside.

 

What is embalming?

    Embalming is the addition to or the replacement of body fluids by chemical preservatives or the application of chemical preservatives for the temporary preservation of the body.

 

Does law require embalming?

    Except in certain cases, law does not require embalming. However, embalming may be necessary if you select certain funeral arrangements such as funeral with viewing.

 

Can I personalize the funeral or memorial service?

    Yes, every aspect of the ceremony can be tailored to your family's individual wishes.
