Cremation Choices at Fairhaven Memorial
Families who come to Fairhaven can be comforted by the fact that we have a crematory on site. The cremations are performed with the dignity and care of the Fairhaven staff. Families sometimes select a witness cremation where they can be present when their loved one enters the crematory and can have a small ceremony with family and friends. Fairhaven’s crematory is housed in the Historic Mausoleum and was one of the first crematories in Orange County.
There are options for cremation services which families may not be aware of. A family may choose a Traditional Cremation where there is a visitation and a service before the cremation. A Memorial Service is also an option with or without the urn present. At a Memorial Service as well as the Traditional Cremation Service, a family may decide to have a video montage, a clergy to assist with the service and eulogies from family members and friends. They may also select a dove release, a harpist or bag pipes. There are many choices that can be selected by families along with cremation services to commemorate the life of a loved one.

Witness Cremation
Over the past few years, the number of people choosing cremation has increased. Our crematory was installed in 1931, the first in Orange County, which gives us years of experience in handling all of the cremation needs of our families. Since that time, the equipment has been updated, however, our attention to detail remains strict and thorough. All cremations are performed with the highest degree of quality control standards. We encourage our families to arrange a tour of our facilities to understand the care that we have for each person that we serve. Each family member is treated with respect and care as if we were serving our own family member.
